It’s Official: The Texas Crowd Loves Calamity Gin
Calamity Gin was the star of the show during a recent event at one of the hottest areas in Dallas metro – Legacy West in Plano. On a Thirsty Thursday night, Sept. 1, folks gathered to fall in love with fall drinks, and Southwest Spirits’ own Calamity Gin anchored the featured cocktail at Haywire, one of our favorite Texas on-premise customers.
Haywire’s top mixologist – a fella we like to call “Calamity Shane” – created a kick off to fall by creating a seasonal cocktail that tastes like our fall favorite Starbucks pumpkin spiced latte, with honeysuckle, chai tea, cardamom, lemon and, of course, Calamity Gin. From what we saw that night, hundreds of our Texas patrons were enjoying these cocktails as much as the true TX styled Haywire experience.
If you’ve never tried Haywire, you’re missing out. It offers hearty, refined Texas cuisine made with locally sourced beef, as well as homemade baked goods, like cinnamon buns and their famous Route 66 pecan pie. And for cocktail enthusiasts, Haywire is one of the best mixology bars in all of Texas, with a massive selection of spirits and wine.
The Legacy West happy hour crawl, held every first Thursday of the month, is fast becoming one of the premier events in North Texas. This most recent crawl brought more than 1,000 NTX residents and visitors together for award-winning food and cocktails. If you’ve been, then you know what we’re talking about. If you haven’t, then check out Legacy West in Plano!
